  • Ken just called the insurance company.  They, in turn, immediately called a company they deal with up in Green Bay.  Five minutes later the company called us.  They will be here on Thursday to replace the windshield on the van.  They come right to the house.  Insurance will cover it all.  Hallelujah!

We have dealt with our local State Farm agent for almost 40 yrs.  We have our  2 autos and renters inurances with them.  When Ken was in business, his business insurance was with them, too.  We have never had a problem with them, and they have always given us prompt, courteous service, without any hassles whatsoever!! I hope Bob never retires!!!!  I have read about customer dissatisfaction with State Farm, but we certainly have never experienced it!

A few years ago, my sis in AZ wanted to change insurance cos. for their vehicles.  They felt their rates had gone up too high.  Went with a different nationally known company, whose rates were much lower.  But, now are kind of sorry they did.  Because, although they got great initial rates, the rates started climbing the following year, and now are as high or higher than their old company was.

After talking to the insurance co., Ken left to go strawberry picking.  Saw on the farm’s website that today is the first day of picking.  Ken likes to get there right away, before the field is picked over, and the plumpest, juiciest ones are still there.  Three guesses what is for dessert tonight!

  • Yvonne’s father was a State Farm agent until he died. We have stayed with them, and while the rates may be a bit higher we have never had a problem with service. I can see it now, the two of you on a State Farm advertisement!

  • Glad you didn’t have to pay a deductable.   We have been with AAA for 30 years, prompt service when we needed it.   We all the time get those “we can give you lower insurance rates than the one you have now letters”   Me smart, me knows it’s sorta like fishing…. they reel you in and then after a time later (mostly) the next renue …BAM up to where you were or even more.   I’m sticking where I am!

Are you going to make jelly with the strawberries, or freeze them?

take care have a great day!

  • Ken and I went picking two weeks ago.  Now I’m waiting for the blueberries to ripen!  So happy that the insurance covers personal stupidity as well as the more normal claims!  LOL

  • Enjoy those berries – my favorites!

    Nice insurance service – priceless!

  • We love State Farm too.  We have always had very good service with them.  Our agent is great!

Berry picking. willhave to wait until we’re back from the cottage.  No time to do anything with them right now.

    Enjoy your dessert.

  • same with us and State Farm.  They don’t offer the right coverage for our metal art business, but they cover everything else for us.

  • make sure you get new wiper blades by thursday…  you’ll understand why

  • Glad to hear they are taking care of you. I’ve also heard some bad things about them… a lot of them surrounding the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
    *sparkle

  • Wonderful news! I don’t know HOW insurance agents got such a bad name! :)

  • Yummmmm, fresh strawberries!  Wonderful!  I’ll have to call the local farms up here to check them out.

  • We’ve had State Farm for years and at first when our agent retired I wasn’t crazy about the new one’s office phone set up. Complained about it when I needed to make a claim and eventually he did away with it. Amazing what they will do when you suggest you may change agents.

  • I’ve had car insurance with State Farm for years also and have always been pleased with their service.

  • Yummy! I wish I had been at your house for dessert last night! I bet it was delicious!

I’m glad your window will be replaced. I have had to have the glass people come to my work and fix mine before, and I thought that was really nice too, that way no work time was missed…

  • I was wishing you were with me on the American Queen.  You would have loved it TONTOO

  • Good thing you insurance replaces the windshield . I think this is normal ( breakings of glasses are covered ) .
Strawberries ? I like strawberry jam . Do you make it , Nancy ?

You have now a new motto each other ” to every one its bike ” . I am glad Ken enjoys again to ride his bike and you the yours in the basement !
    Love

    Michel

  • My friend Cathie had to replace her windshield because someone drove by her house and shot it out. The glass guys came to the school parking lot to replace it while she was in school. Strawberries…gotta love em.
