Boy, did this last week go by quickly.
Went to my rehab classes on Monday and Wednesday.
Last evening I discovered sugar free Twizzlers.
This morning I discovered a nasty side effect from sugar free candy.
Diarrhea!!
I had seen on the label that the sugar substitute COULD cause a laxative effect.
Boy, did it!!
It started at 5:30 this morning, and even though I got ready to go to the exercise class, I finally called and said I could not make it.
J. said she understood—-her dad had the same thing happen to him.

Our tulips and daffys alongside the house are finally in full bloom. But only a few daffys out around the fountain, and no tulips blooming there yet.
This is next to the house:
Some of the trees are barely budding out now. Temps are still cool. It is all of 56 degrees here right now.
——————————
Started this about 1 1/2 hrs. ago, but received a phone call from son, Jeff, (the travelers) right in the middle of this.
Last Friday was the last day of his job in Corpus Christi, and even though he had only been there for a month, they had a big going-away BBQ party at lunch for him. Lunch lasted about 3 hrs! The head boss said that they really hoped that Jeff would decide to come back there in the future, because the whole place ran so much smoother, and jobs were done quicker, and everyone was happier with Jeff around! Great praise!!
After leaving Corpus Christi, they drove to Texas City, outside of Houston, to take the bus to the Baptist church it originally came from. Not many people at the service they went to, and only a couple people recognized the bus. Guess the church is in the process of selling the property.
From Texas City, they went to Houston, and saw the San Jacinto monument, which is the tallest monument in the world ( I think Jeff said it is 8′ taller than the Washington Monument in Washington, DC.)
and the battleship, the U.S.S. Texas, which was in both world wars. It was the last ship of the dreadnought class built.
The 2 grandkids are learning their history first-hand!!
They came back up through Arkansas and Missouri, instead of up through Texas.
The travelers are now in Des Moines. He will be starting on the PGA tournament sign job on Tuesday, and that job will last until the beginning of June. After that job is done, they will come up to LaCrosse for most (or all) of the summer. As of now, granddaughters Hannah and Mindy definitely plan on moving to Nashville, but probably not until after Jeff and Judy’s baby is born.
That is about it.
Oh, I did hear from grandson, Jacob, who is in San Jose—studying to be a chiropractor. He called from Sacramento. He and classmates were there as lobbyists to see a state senator or representative. Don’t know the details, but it had to do with chiropractic. Jacob is keeping so very busy that he has only had two free weekends since he arrived in San Jose at Christmas. He attends lots of seminars, has become active in church, and has been doing job-shadowing on his own. Busy, busy, busy!!
Now, that IS it!!
Have a great weekend!

Good to hear the news from the travellers. The children are having serious education that will last their life times. I don’t know that I would be able to cope with a new baby under such circumstances. Hope the ” funny tummy ” has cleared for you now.

Sounds like all is going very well, except the runs! Good to hear good news
TONTOO
Love hearing about your travelers. Are they planning to stay on the road after the baby comes too?
Thought I had warned you about that earlier but must have been someone else. Been there…done that! YUCK However, maybe you lost weight! Always look for the sunny side.
Glad to hear the kids are closer to home. Didn’t realize they planned to come “home” for the summer. Tell me again when the baby is due.
It is cold here again today. Started out alittle warmer but….. Just hope it doesn’t rain tomorrow at least until late. It will ruin the little town’s activities and cut down the school reunion attendance. Oh, well, what will be will be.
I was only thinking about the travellers the other day. When will you get to see them? Hope your tummy is feeling better now
wow, sugar free twizzlers. I never heard about those. Fortunately for me only sugar free chocolates bother me in that kind of way. Where did u find them?
Oh, boy! Sugar free Twizzlers! What’s the sugar substitute, not that I’ve had any problem with any of them that I’ve tried.
Sorry they didn’t treat you nicely.
That’s such a cool way to travel. I always wanted to do something like that, but HoneyBear was not interested. Odd, too, since he does want to travel.
So glad the kids have the freedom to travel around and see different parts of this beautiful land! We loved it the 10 years that we did it but we’ve had enough. I’m glad that they didn’t catch any storms.
Oh my. Sugar free candy. We had bought a lot at Stouffer’s outlet when John was on sugarbusters(BTW: he lost 20 lbs on that diet and his triglycerides improved significantly) but oh….:spinning::spinning::rolleyes::rolleyes:….We ate way too much and were sick as dogs. This is while we were on the road…ugh…not good memories at all! I had learned the lesson the hard way:nono::nono::nono:
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY
I love your tulips! Too bad ours are going now. I wish we could have them all year. I hink that is when our house looks best, brightened by all those tulips.
Wow, they must have really liked Jeff a LOT! That was quite a send-off; I suppose they want to be memorable, just in case.
Sugar-free candy is sneaky – that side effect should not be allowed to happen!
Hope you have a great Mother’s Day!
Lots of news and beautiful tulips. I wish the rabbits and deer didn’t like my tulips so much. I only have one plant that survives each year and won’t plant more. It has been warming up here so you are bound to warm up soon, too. Thanks for the new from your son and grandson. I’m glad your son will be back in WI for the summer. Hang in there, the warm summer is coming…
Maybe I should get some Twizzlers. I’m tired of Benafiber.
That ship was gone for rehab when I was there.
Can’t imagine how Jeff can afford the fuel for the bus now.
Happy Mother ‘ s Day , Nancy !
I hope the rehab goes well now in spite of the transit incident .
Jeff is everywhere in US and for an European like me a map would be useful .
Whatever he is apreciated there where he works and this is good . What an experience of life they get !
Love
Michel
Tho I know it was not funny to you, I had to laugh at your reaction to the sugar-free twizzles!! I have had the same experience!! I have found that Wertzer’s sugar free hard candy does not have the same side affect. You might want to try them . Both Walgreen’s and CVS carries them.
Happy Mother’s Day. I hate it when food “attacks” me! Hope you are feeling better. I always enjoy hearing about Jeff’s journeys. Too bad it isn’t a little bit warmer out for his work at the golf course. Too bad it isn’t a little bit warmer for us! After a week of 70′s and 80′s in TN I’m not enjoying our cold and damp WI air. My tulips are gorgeous. So glad they didn’t blow away while I was gone!
