Have a wonderful, patriotic 4th of July!!
The above picture is of our local son’s Christmas tree. They usually do a patriotic tree. Different and meaningful. You have heard the saying “Christmas in July”??? This is “July in Christmas”!
The new windshield was installed yesterday, Thursday. Ken drove the car last evening and said he thinks there is a distortion in the glass. We will go for a ride a little later so I can see it. It is where the windshiel curves around to the side on the passenger side. He said that while driving along the lake, the lake looked “wavy” on that side. So, I will see if I notice it. If we feel it is bad enough, we will contact the insurance and glass company. There is a warranty for it regarding workmanship. So, we will see.
UPDATE
We went for our ride, and I don’t think it is bad enough to do anything about. The driver sees it through the passenger side, and the passenger sees it by the drivers side. I couldn’t see it on my own side at all. Don’t know if I would even notice it if I hadn’t been looking for it.
Our town is set for the 4th of July celebrations.
Downtown, with the park ready for a band concert.
We also drove by the beach. A few people were there, taking possession of the picnic tables across from the beach, but nobody was on the beach yet—-just the seagulls.
A few fishing boats were out on the lake. It was very calm. It was also cool. We might take a ride down there later this afternoon. Last year it was jammed!! Maybe the cooler temps will keep the crowd down, but I doubt it. The beach is just a few blocks from the fireworks tonight, so a lot of people hang around the beach to watch them.
Hope you all enjoy your holiday weekend!!

What a cute July Christmas tree! I would make them fix it if there is any distortion you find distracting. The last thing you need is a distraction out of the corner of your eye while driving.
*sparkle
Yup, I agree. Driving’s a ‘job’ WITHOUT any distortions. Take it back.
That’s the cutest fourth of July wreath I have ever seen!!!!
I hope you get things straightened out with the windshield. I have always thought that if their is a lemon in a bunch of anything, I will get it. At least it seems that way!!
I hope you enjoy yours, too! (Looks like you already are!)
Hope you enjoy the fireworks tonight. I was reading that Farve is thinking about coming back from retirement the other day, so we will have to see what happens
If you decide to watch the fireworks, I hope that you enjoy them! Happy 4th of July!!
It rained all day here until pretty late in the day, so I was surprised to hear the fireworks go off tonight. We used to be able to see them pretty well from our deck in the back yard, when we first moved here, but now the trees have all grown too tall to see anything. We can hear it all, though!
Happy 4th!
I really like the idea of a Patriotic Tree. Your kids are so creative. They must get that from their parents.:goodjob:
I think more people stayed home this year because of the skyrocketing gas prices. It’s going to cost us a small fortune to make our trip in September.
If it’s under warrenty, it wouldn’t hurt to have it fixed. No unecessary distractions while driving.
As I comment here, July 4, 2008 is history. Have a great day after!

I used to have a tree in every room and at least one of them would be a patriotic one. I love your son’s.
LOVE the patriotic tree! My friend Dora (husband is receiving chemo right now) does a patriotic theme too for Christmas. Her hubby is in the Army.
LOVE the patriotic town. VERY cool!!!
66lbs! Now that’s one big catfish! LOL! Have a great week!
I hope your weather was as perfect as ours was – I much prefer a 4th with temps in the high 70s than one in the high 90s!
lovely repartee’…you go girl!
hugs,

Come on down to MO if you want hot. Today has been alittle better but the humidity is high with rain and thunder late this afternoon with more expected for the next few days. Not good for getting in the harvest that is going on right now. We are so thankful to have our hay baled already. Bestest Friends had to stop wheat harvest with about 1 1/2 days to go to get it done.
FIX IT! You want it right now or if something would go wrong or get worse it might cost instead of being included in the deal.
Sydney and I are home alone. Praise the Lord! Poor Wil was ready to explode by the time son got g-son to do everything son should have had done yesterday when g-son was gone and son basically spent the day in his room. They went to a swim/run in Springfield that didn’t start until 6:30 p.m. I hope Wil lets Brent drive home. Wil doesn’t drive well after dark but won’t admit it. I told him to let Brent drive…for all the good that will do if Wil is determined to do it himself. Hope he stops at Lowe’s and gets whatever is needed to fix the crack in the shower floor. This is one of those all in one showers that you put in before you put in the walls so a crack isn’t good!

Came to say “HI” and thanks for your congrats on the new baby.
Keep those prayers going for little Claire…Since there is so little in the way of medical facilities and personnel , prayer is very crucial.
:heartbeat:
A deserted beach has charms too . I like better than when it is crowded !
I hope all is well for the windshield . You noiced anything weird .
I like the patriotic tree : always green , alive .
Love
Michel
Looks like those gulls are hunkered down, waitin’ for ya!
You might consider a re do on the windshield in case that has weakened it. ??
I posted a poem for you. It is a revision and I hope it doesn’t remind you of yourself. Cheers
