  • Yes, I’m still alive.
I’m still on the computer, but spend more time on Facebook.
And, there hasn’t been much going on here, either.
Just watching the snow slowly melt—waiting for good weather.

Two weekends ago, Greg and family came for a pancake dinner, with bacon and sausages—–and malts.  A while back, the two younger grands, Louise and Sylvia, were complaining that they never got the malts they were promised back at Christmas.  So, we invited them over for a pancake dinner, with malts for dessert.
The day before they came, Louise called and told us she wasn’t coming.  She had a chance to go to an indoor water park with the young people’s group from church—-at a good reduced rate.  Of course I gave her a hard time about it—since she is the one who complained earlier.
Avery was not able to come either.  He was sick.
We had been telling the kids that we always buy Fiber One pancake mix now.  They are a heavier pancake than  Bisquick or other boxed mixes—and higher in fiber.  So that was the reason for the pancake dinner—so they could try them.  They really liked them.
And then Ken made the malts.  He gets the malt powder from the store and mixes it with the mixer with milk and LOTS of ice cream.  We used Vanilla Fudge Swirl.  He used over half of a 5 qt. pail of ice cream.  Everyone enjoyed them, too.

Granddaughter, Mindy, had taken a trip to Florida from Nashville to visit her folks a few weeks ago.  She took some pictures of baby Catalina.  This is a picture of Mindy with her baby sister.

That is really all from here.  Been cleaning out some drawers and such.  Getting the Spring Cleaning bug.
My tulips and daffys are about 3″ out of the ground.  The returning cold weather has slowed them down.
Today is rainy.  Temperatures only in low 40′s this week.

It is good to keep up with you all through my e-mail subscription digest.  I don’t think I could ever give up my Xanga friends!!  Our 15 yr. old neighbor boy found out I was on Facebook, and now he has made me his friend.  He even got his dad to start his own page there, too.  Several Xanga friends are now also friends on Facebook.  At least it gives me something to do on these rainy days, when I don’t feel like doing anything around the house.
I just made a new friend on Facebook from Belgium.  She said she wanted to come here and read my blog.  Hi, Daniela.  Wecome to my blog.  Hope I haven’t bored you!

Tomorrow I get a haircut, and we have Lenten service at church afterwards.  They always have a light supper afterwards, but we never stay.  Since we sit towards the back in church, we are among the last to be ushered out.  Which also means we are at the end of a long line waiting to get food when we go downstairs.  And, then it can be hard to find a place to sit.  So, we just don’t go.  Little things like that bother us now—-which they never did when we were younger!!
Have a great week and weekend everyone!!!
    Love ya’!!!

  • AND thanks to you and Carol I also now spend more time on facebook doing the farming.. LOL more than I should!!!  But it is fun.  I have strawberries to be harvested today… hope to catch you online. If not I will let Hubby’s site harvest them tonight.  It is addicting!!!

  • Great to hear your news. I have thought about Facebook – BUT know I haven’t the time to spend there as Xanga takes up most of my spare minutes. Catalina is getting prettier by the month – like her sisters Mild spring-like weather here and everything is blooming – except me The thought of cleaning and decorating is getting me down. Marie

  • My, Catalina is growing and getting prettier by the moment!

I am always so happy when I see you have commented on my site. You always make me smile when I don’t want to. Not many people can do that!

We had a super windy day Monday and it  was hard to open and shut my car doors. At least we have weather in the fifties this week. I hope it stays

You and Ken make such a grand team..you do the pancakes and he does the malts. The world is better for having you two in it!

  • @Sojourner_here - Hate to say this, but Ken made the pancakes, too!!  I have maybe attempted them once or twice in our 48 yrs. of marriage.  He is the chief pancake cooker and master of the outdoor grill.  I don’t even know how to turn the grill on!  I DID cook the bacon and sausages—he would have either under-cooked them or burnt them!  And, I did bake some muffins, too.   Yes, I am spoiled—and am not complaining!  lol   Now, if I could only convince him to move south!!!!!

  • So Ken is multitalented!!! He would do great at the Kiwanis Pancake Day!!!

  • I’d like to join you for pancakes and malts but…John can’t eat them and….I shouldn’t!

    Cute li’l baby…

The weather here is changeable.  Yesterday…nice; today, hot and rather muggy(I hear rain) next week we will have a cool down.  Actually, I like the cooler weather.

    So, why live in FL?

     SUNSHINE(mostly)

I always loved the first signs of Spring when we lived in OH.

I agree with you on waiting in long lines for breakfast brunches and potlucks.

  • HI!

I’ve never been to Facebook. Do you like it better? I still dont have a myspace..hehe..daffodils are already blooming here. They are everywhere. I’m considering ‘rehoming’ a few wild ones I’ve seen on my journeys.
