The days are getting longer, and when the sun is shining it is shining brighter.
So, now I am in SEMI-hibernation! lol
Dreary days still do me in, though.
Today is a blindingly sunny day–thanks to the sun’s reflection off of the newly-fallen snow.
Saturday was a snow-filled day. It was coming down fairly heavily here, but difficult to see.We received around 8″, and Ken said it was over 12″ where it drifted from the wind.
I wasn’t happy to see it come, but it did cover up all the dirty snow that was still around. Plowing, snowblowing and shoveling gave Ken something to do.

The local kids came over on Valentine’s Day, bearing sub sandwiches. Yum! Had a nice visit, but think the two teens were bored! They camped out on each end of the sofa, and this is what happened.
AveryThis was unusual for Louise. Come to find out, she had a virus which didn’t really make her sick, just very tired. She is fine now.

We also received pics from the travelers.
Baby Catalina celebrated her 6 mo. birthday on Feb. 19th. They took the traditional 6 mo. birthday pictures. Here they are (The first one is a little fuzzy):
BeforeMmmmm—even the plate tastes good!
I think she liked it!!!!!!!!

Yesterday, the 22nd was our 48th anniversary.
Feb. 22, 1961—-temperature in mid 70′s (Arizona)
Feb 22, 2009—-WI—-17 degrees!And we haven’t changed a bit!!!!!! Well, INSIDE we haven’t!! lol
The local kids stopped by again, bearing colorful, cheery flowers and good wishes. Ken had gone to the grocery store and picked up some potted tulips. It was the last pot left from Valentine’s Day. They were past their prime, but will save the bulbs and plant them outside. Nice reminders of our anniversary!
We didn’t go out to eat for our anniversary. We never do. But, we still enjoyed our meal. Shrimp was on sale, and Ken had picked up a whole beef tenderloin on sale a couple weeks ago. So, we had jumbo shrimp and grilled tenderloin. That is all—no potatoes or veggies or salad—just shrimp and steak. YUMMY! Baked some muffins later on for a small dessert.

Congratulations to both you and Ken. Though you say you haven’t changed on the inside I know that over the time together we long term marrieds, support each other to really do more growing than we did before any of us ever married. Kids, finances, learning to support and be co-operative… learning what it is to truly love.
A lady serving at the counter the other day said how she notices in the area that we live that it seems every other month young couples come in and take one or the other partner’s name off the customer card and then almost immediately puts a new one on. We – the lady and I recognizing we had both long term relationships- said how sad that the young couples didn’t get that marriage is really difficult but the sticking with it and working things out take one to much better places. Role modelling long and successful marraiges is really important in this fast food, instant gratification time period. Being honest about the highs and lows is important too- and letting the newly partnered know it is really worth it to stick out the problems into reconcilable differences. Anyway the very best for this year…. lovely photos but I shudder to think of that choco high!!!
WELL!!!! Happy FORTY-EIGHTH TO YOU!!
Just look what all you started FORTY EIGHT YEARS AGO!! (o;
I’m doing a Happy Anniversary Dance just for you and Ken!!! Good for you! We are some of the few hangers in there left.
That baby is going to hate all of you when she is older and is shown these pictures. lol
A very happy anniversary to both of you. The celebration meal sounds lovely – very yummy. Gorgeous photos of Catalina, she certainly enjoyed her half-birthday cake
Love the photos of the two exhausted GC relaxing, they both look very comfortable. Spring is nearly here in Widnes – flowers are blooming and birds are singing. Marie
Happy anniversary to you both
I love the top you are wearing in your photo , great colour. I hope Catalina did not eat all that cake on her own
happy anniversary!! what a great looking couple then and now. your grandson has very long eyelashes!!
You are both beautiful!
Happy anniversary! That meal sounds perfect to me, and the flowers are lovely!
My new preferred shrimp recipe is to grill them with garlic butter! Thread those babies on the kebab sticks, baste with the garlic butter and a little salt and pepper, and they are done in a flash. Oh, boy, they are the BEST!!!
No , you have not changed . You are both beautiful and radiant .

I wish again to you a happy wedding anniversary . Even our wedding photo looks like yours .
Love
Michel
