HI!
It’s Mimiwi!!
Remember me?????? lol
I am really getting bad about blogging.
I do want to say that I read all your blogs through my e-mail subscription, just don’t come and comment much.
I have gotten hooked on Facebook.
But Xanga will never be totally forgotten. I have made too many special friends here.

I talked to our traveling daughter-in-law. Caught her at the laundromat this past weekend. Normally just talk to Jeff. She is loving her massage therapy classes. She says they even have personal trainers on staff, and she can work out with them at any time. Judy has some problems with tightness in her neck, and often when she gets to school, one of her instructors will give her a neck massage to make her feel better.
Granddaughter, Gretta, was there with her. The laundromat has internet access, so she e-mailed me pictures of Catalina right away. These were taken on New Years—obviously. Catalina has the big blue eyes all of their kids have. She would have been 4 1/2 months at the time.

I had talked to Jeff a few days earlier, and asked him about the elderly man they went and visited—the one with the huge house on Tampa Bay. He was a career military man, and when he retired he went into real estate in Florida. I was figuring that if he stayed in the Air Force for 20 yrs. and he is about 80 now, he would have retired from the AF about 40 yrs. ago, in the late 60′s—-just when Florida was really starting to boom.

Back on the homefront, I have been a LITTLE more active. The weather has improved, and there has been more sunshine. The snow has been melting, but still a lot around. Under the trees we see the ground now.
—————–
We have a Mountain Ash in our front yard. It got more berries on it this year than it ever has before. The robins came around in Fall, but didn’t eat many this year like they usually do. So, there were lots of berries on it all winter until now. This picture shows the way one of our heavy, still snowfalls accumulated on the berries. Really neat! Then, last week I thought we were being visited by female cardinals. Then I realized the coloring was wrong. It was a flock of Cedar Waxwings. They LOVED the berries!!
Here you can see several in the tree.A closeup of the first photo shows two of the Waxwings with berries in their beaks.
They were here for less than a week.
This is what the tree looks like now.Just the stems of all the berry clusters left, with a berry here and there. The birds are all gone away. It was fun watching them the few days they were here, though. I do miss looking out my front window and seeing all the red berries—brightened up the drab view!!

This picture is my profile pic. I have had this on here before. But for new viewers I will explain.
This picture was taken on Valentine’s Day 1961. My boss had given me a bridal shower at her home. Afterwards, Ken came to pick me up. My boss took this picture of the two of us. Her hubby is reflected in the mirror behind us.This was a week before our wedding. Thought it was an appropriate picture for Valentines Day.
My, how we have changed!!!!! Wish I had that 24 1/2″ waist back! lol I know it is under here—-somewhere.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!

We had Cedar Waxwings come into our feeder one time that I’ve ever seen. They dipped in and were gone. I’m so glad I was looking out the window at the time or I’d have missed them. They are so pretty.
Nancy, can you post on Xanga what you post on facebook? Just write whatever and then cut and paste to here. I sure do miss hearing from you.
The wallboard is up in the bath and I’m hoping that Wil will get us a hi-rise toliet and not put this one back in. Nothing I say when things are so stressful as this has been, seem to be heard tho so we shall see. I try to just stay out of the way and not make waves until things get sorta back to whatever normal is around here.
The baby is really growing and so cute.
I hold all my tension in my neck as well. The berries looked like they were wearing a hat in the first photo
Hopefully a few weeks and winter will be over
Great pix. I can understand why you miss the color of those berries! They were beautiful. But, yeah another 8 weeks and Spril will hit WI!
Happy Valentine’s Day you two sweet friends.
I should blg too but I do not know what is happening to me…. ? I never blog anymore.
I will, maybe this eve.
I love the tree picture and the birdies. Those berries are so cool with snow on them.
Pierro would be going nuts with those birdies.
OH! and little Catalina is adorrrrrrable!
Those berries were beautiful! They did there duty and fed hungry birds and gave you a lot to look at. What a deal!
Those are some incredible blue eyes!
Berries with hats! Catalina is adorable.
At least you have someone on facebook to visit. I don’t have much fun with it if you’ve ever gotten to mine. You probably read that in my blog at some time.
Little Catalina is beautiful actually a real life doll, bet she is a placid joyful little girl too she just looks angelic.
Waxwings- you didn’t mention the constant chatter as they demolish whatever berry tree they find. They descend and devour but what a chatty rather nervous bird community. Every little noise is a cause to get up and fly away until they feel a sense of safety again. Their colour does make up for the berry droppings they leave behind though…
I just truly don’t get Facebook. I actually closed my site because it doesn’t make any sense at all.
Thank you for coming by for a lovely visit. It was a treat to have you drop by and a very very good visit. I appreciated it very much
And about those waist measurements…. did core work this week, walked kilometers and I also went out with Mom yesterday giving a day to take her shopping for shoes and winter boots. While shopping for her, I tried on the most adorable wool sweater jacket dress thingy from France. It was funky, really unique and super haute couture. Yesterday I said goodbye to fitted tiny waist fashion. Menopausal bloom has taken over. I think the funk is off the bloom here. Have a wonderful valentines’ and take care. -g (again thanks for the great visit)
My Mom and I are both on facebook! Do you have my name to look up?
This is a blog worth waiting for – beautiful Catlalin with the gorgeous eyes, lovely berries and birds – what more could we want ? We had a mountain ash ( since lopped down as it was too close to the house ) that provided hours of entertainment as the birds stripped it bare.Slightly warmer today TG ! Marie
What a beautiful baby. Is that your grandbaby? I remember the days when my waist was 24″ Sure not that anymore. Happy Valentines Day. Judi
Spring is announced , Nancy .
The tree with fruits is a delight for the birds ( beautiful ones ) and I bet they expand the seeds everywhere .
I have been amazed by this old and rich man Jeff met . This is a history of Ammerica in person ..
Catalina ‘ s eyes are a splendor . What a limpis blue !
I wish to you Nancy and Ken a happy Valentine ‘ s Day
Love
Michel
Oh…I remember you!
One day I heard a large commotion and saw a huge crowd of Cedar Waxwings complete strip my holly tree of it’s red berries.
I saw a robin yesterday. That means they are headed up your way.
That Catalina is so gorgeous.
You and Ken make the cutest Valentine couple!
Sure do remember you. That is one beautiful baby girl. Catilina has the biggest, bluest eyes I have ever seen. Absolutely adorable. The photo of the berries with the snow on top of them make them look like little white and red bells, Valentines bells. My friend loves FaceBook and has her whole family on there and they are totally addicted to it.
Hope you are havign a great Valentines day.
Hi! How are you doing? I can’t believe how big the baby is!!!! she is gorgeous!
I was telling T (my boyfriend) about the traveling portion of your family, and he thinks that is so cool and interesting. I was wondering if you have the link anymore that shows the bus from the time they started working on it until they actually were ready to take off? He would love to see the transformation!
Nevermind~~~~ He was so interested that I just scrolled back through your pictures until I found the ones of the bus transformation. That is so cool. Did he design the whole thing himself or did he look up blue prints on line?
LOve all the photos…the berry tree is such a neat shot! What a darling baby. Thanks for your help on facebook. I have not gotten very far but I shall struggle on!
