  • ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!

We waited all morning for our new washer and dryer to be delivered.

Finally, I called Lowes at around 12:30.

The gal said that there was no delivery scheduled for us today.  She checked her files, and said it was scheduled for the 13th!!!  NEXT Tuesday.

Why didn’t they let us know!!!!???

On the slip we received, the salesman wrote:

    ” 1-6-09   Tues. A.M.

May change based on when washer comes in.”

OK.  If it was changed, they should have let us know—right?  RIGHT!

I told the gal that I would call on Monday, the 12th, just to double-check that it would be delivered on Tuesday, which she said would be a good idea.

Needless to say, I DON’T have enough underwear to last 3 weeks!!

Ken went to the laundromat this afternoon.  I have enough jeans, slacks and tops to last, so he didn’t wash them.  My hamper is overflowing, though.  lol  The new washer and dryer will get a good workout when it finally comes!

    ———————————————

Today, I am also undecorating the tree.  It is a pain because certain grandchildren insisted on putting ornaments way on the back of the tree—back in the corner where nobody sees them.  Had to pull the tree out and I did manage to turn the tree, so I didn’t have to crawl back into the corner—-which isn’t that easy for me to do anymore!  lol

It will be nice to have it all taken down and packed away.  This place is so small, that it looks so messy while it is in the process of decorating and undecorating.

Have to get it all done tomorrow, because Ken’s sis & hubby from out of town are coming Thurs. afternoon for a visit.  Need the sofa empty of ornaments so they have a place to sit down!  lol

My problem is that my back gets sore after slight bending over.  Have to stop about every 15 minutes to rest it.  Ends up taking waaay to long to do things.

It is cloudy, cloudy, cloudy and cold, cold, cold.

I didn’t sleep well last night.

    I’m cranky!

    Can you tell???  lol

    Tomorrow is another day!

Hope YOUR week is going well.

I shouldn’t complain—I made it through the holidays without getting sick, and only gained 4 lbs.!!

  • WHEN DID YOU STEAL MY BACK!?!?!??     I KNOW it’s mine, cause that’s what IT does.  (o;    I didn’t miss having to put tree ornaments away AT ALL!!!   I’m so glad I got rid of that tree two years ago!!!

The inconsideration of these stores, is unbelievable!!  Makes one wish there was a way not to shop there at all!!!  You wait a good part of the day, thinking any minute, they’ll drive in, then find that they weren’t intending to come at ALL!!!   I think I would have asked for the manager!!

  • I would be upset as well about the delivery , you will have alot of washing to do next week but the worse part I think is putting it all away

  • I hate waitting

  • Oh well, you will just have to go without underwear

We had a great experience with our Lowes, they had a customer liason person call us to confirm everything and she called a couple times during and after installation too.

    (HUGS)

  • Bummer!  I would definately write the manager of the store and complain about the inconvenience this has caused them and send them a bill for the laundramat!  They really need to confirm these things.  It should not be the customer’s job to find out if they are going to deliver or not!

I have to take down all the Christmas Deco’s yet.  I’m waiting for the weekend.

  • new washer and dryer? nice…geez, though, where do you find compatentency, they could have at least called you, huh? no one seems to care about the other…such is life, eh? you best take care of your back, very important part of the anatomy, eh? the tree can wait…I find the older I get, not that I don’t have the energy, but I just want less and less to contend with…I paid my dues, now I can be lazy…

    hugs my sweet friend,

  • Oh, I bet you can’t wait for your washer and dryer! I also know what you mean about the decorating and undecorating process. Things just look like a bunch of clutter during both of those times.
    *sparkle

  • I am a bit cranky myself.  Bruce always was Mr. Fixit and now I am Widow Fixit and things do not go all that well.  I also am not able to eat more than a third of a meal before it tastes like cardboard.  Getting tired of that.  All in the healing I am told.  So one baby step and a Finnegan to purr….that really is my salvation right now!  TONToo

  • Doesn’t it make the room seem bigger when the tree is put away?  I always like that part!  : )

I would see if Lowe’s can compensate you in some way for the trouble, because they really should have called.  Maybe they can waive a delivery fee, if there was one, or give you a discount off the set, or even a gift card would be nice.  We’ve had some success in getting them to make a problem right.  I mean, that seems like a really long wait!  One of the reasons we ended up getting our new washer from them was because they had quick delivery, like maybe the next day.  Of course, I think we probably live near enough for that.  Maybe yours had to be ordered.

The weather is icky here, too.  I had to chip ice off of all the windows on the car this morning to get to work, while standing in the freezing rain.  REALLY makes me wish we had a garage.  But at least I didn’t run into too much ice on the roads, since I waited to leave a little later than I would have liked.  I HATE the ice.  Looks like we will have more of what they refer to as a “wintry mix” tomorrow, but I plan not to go out in it if at all possible.  Thursday we should get snow – whoopeeeee!

I am glad I didn’t get sick either, especially because people that ARE sick insist on attending family festivities every single year.  Many a year has been spent with one or more people huddling under a blanket with chills or fever from the flu, and that tends to be passed around pretty easily!

Have fun with your company – I know you will!

  • Why didn’t you leave the tree until Ken’s sis and husband were there to help? This year give Grandkids the info you can no longer reach those hidden area’s. We won’t even talk about backs OK?

  • Bummer, Hang in there this to will pass!

  • Waiting only to be stood up like that always makes me cranky, too.

  • Reading this post on undecorating makes me doubly glad that I was a scrooge this year and did not put up a tree or decorations.

Pits on Lowe’s for not calling you!!!  I am dreading the day when our Washer and dryer give out.  Not only the expense of buying new ones but hassle of cleaning out a path to get the old ones out and new ones in.

  • My Ken helped me to undecorate so it seemed to go faster than normal.  Then he and his two strong young friends all took the boxes down and put them away.  I was very grateful.

That’s a real bummer about the washer and dryer non-delivery!

  • Not funny indeed , Nancy .
Are you back in the old times like us for the heating  to wash your underwears at hands ? in the sink ?
    May the time come
When the daisies and crocus are bloomed
And so , the forget me not !

    Love
    Michel
