  • Just found out today that daughter-in-law, Judy, will be coming tomorrow, and bringing Kenny and the baby, Catalina.  One of Judy’s brothers is having a big birthday party, and she will be able to see all–or most of–her siblings and dad at the same time, any they will be able to meet Catalina.  With 13 siblings, it is hard for her to see them all when she comes to visit.  They will stay here overnight and return to LaCrosse sometime Sunday.  She will also see Greg and Lori.  Don’t know yet if she will go to their house, or if Greg and family will come here.  Greg and family cannot come until afternoon, and don’t know when Judy wants to leave.  It is a four hour drive for her.  She might just go to their house Sat. evening, after her brother’s party.  I will be prepared for either way.  If Greg comes here, we will just barbecue—with beans and a pasta salad, and maybe brownies for dessert.  Easy-peasy!

They (Jeff and family) will be leaving for Nashville Monday.  Jeff is staying in LaCrosse this weekend to get the bus ready for the trip, and to help the two oldest girls pack all their stuff up for their move to Nashville.  Hannah wrote on her Facebook page that she is both excited and scared about the move.  A whole new life for her and Mindy.  Now, only grandson Jordan will be left here in Wisconsin (LaCrosse) from that family.  Since he doesn’t have a car, who knows when we will get to see him.  Our family is all spreading far and wide.  Sad, yet exciting, to see the grands “speading their wings and fly”.  Yet, we still have baby Catalina, too.  Of course, we won’t see much of her at all—depending on where Jeff travels to in the summer.  She will definitely change the most between visits.

Will try to remember to take pictures while Judy and kids are here.  I didn’t even get a picture of Ken’s sis, Diana, while she was here!!  I couldn’t believe it when I realized it afterwards.  She was here for 3 weeks!!  Guess we were so involved with the roof project, and yakking about 1,001 things that I just never thought of it while she was here.  Well,  now that she is retired, hopefully she will come a little more often.  Love to listen to her southern drawl!

  • Please, please, please post some more photos of your adorable Catalina soon!

  • Just keep the camera right by you at all times and snap snap snap!!!!!

  • With all of the changes in everyone’s lives, you will have a lot to keep track of, and a lot to blog about!  : )

The Nashville move is a really big step, but it’s got to be really exciting.  Not many people have that kind of talent, to take them where they want to go.  I’m sure the girls will do great!

We used to have a girl from Alabama working in our office, and lots of people would call just to hear her voice.  And, you know, it got just a little more “Southern” during those phone calls, too.  : )

  • Glad you are going to get to see part of the family again before they “nomad” off to wherever. I’m worn out and headed for bed. I put a short post on but I was lucky to do that. Hope Wil is feeling better tomorrow. He is just never under the weather and although he is a good patient it still isn’t a good thing. I’ll watch him for bronchitis.

  • I am sure you will see lots of differences in the baby when she comes today even although you only saw her a few weeks ago. look forward to the photos

  • Try really hard to take those pics, they are what you keep looking at long after they are gone.  My parents live in So California and my brother moved first when he went into the service… now, he’s settled in Alabama and has a child… I moved to New York and have now settled in Pennsylvania with my son.  I feel horrible that my mother’s grandchildren weren’t raised near her, but I try very hard to call them alot, let them talk to my son and he feels they are definitely a big part of his life.  Plus we try to see them at least once a year… they are coming out for Thanksgiving and I’m just thrilled about it.  So, is my brother and nephew, so we’ll have our little gathering as well.  It really is all about your family, isn’t it?  For those without family, I’m sure their friends become their family members.  God Bless and truly enjoy your gathering!

  • How exciting for you and family. I can’t imagine a four hour ride, let alone drive. I guess now I’m offically old.

  • Catalina is a cute name

  • Have fun!  and yes, keep that camera attached to you and take LOTS of pix!  when are you going to post about the Birthday party?  How strange you did not take pix of your sil!  I’ll blog later this weekend and post pix of both the showers.

  • Oh…this will be an exciting week end for you.  You all will be making wonderful family memories.

Since you wrote this yesterday, the excitement is happening RIGHT NOW…

    ENJOY AND GOD BLESS!

  • I guess it’s all relative.   To be only a mere 4 hours away from Val would be a dream …We are now about 18 hours away and that is a 2 or 3 day trip.  Too too too far.   The USA is a large country and we move around the place like wandering vagabonds.

  • When they get out and start moving, it gets harder to keep up, so those pictures come in handy.  I have forgotten, is Diana from Georgia?  or maybe that is someone else.  You will have to call me sometime, I don’t have a southern drawl.  But I do sound like I am from the ‘South.’

Enjoy your visit with the “nomads”

  • sometimes you get really involved in what you’re doing and just don’t have time to think of things like taking pics of visitors and such. WHen my Dad is here.. or when we’re there… it’s hectic!! It’s always like we remember the camera in the last few hours of the visit.

  • Sorry to be so long returning , you do have a lot of relatives, that is good I have loads, but sadly they don’t keep in touch with one another ,so I only see the odd one now and again. Glad you sound well and happy Love marj

  • That is neat that you’ll get to see your daughter in law & the kiddos again, hope to see some pictures!!

  • I think you have since yesterday , well filled days , Nancy . Meeting with many family members is a joy . But I guess you will need some rest after that . Enjoy your day .
I commented the two previous posts that I have missed .

    Michel

  • Oh I love your new profile picture !!! It cracked me up !!

I know you will enjoy having that new grand baby around–take pictures for us!

  • It’s hard when everyone is spread apart isn’t it, we have one of hours sons about a 1 hour drive the next on a 2 hour drive, the next two are about a 5 hour drive and our daughter a 4 hour drive then a 29 hour flight away!

  • How wonderful to get a visit with all the family before they spread far and wide. Family is everything I am sure you will find ways to keep in touch. Judi
