It was a BEAUTIFUL Xangan afternoon!!
Ken and his “harem”
Val (Valreads), Ken, Dawn (Sue’s friend), Sue (Coolmom56)
Doesn’t he look happy??
It was a perfect day for eating outside. Just a fly once in a while, and NO mosquitos.
Good times, good friends.
They arrived shortly after 3, and the time flew by. They left about 6:45. Val had a long day already, driving from Indiana early this morning, picking up Dawn at Midway airport in Chicago, driving up to Sue’s outside of Sheboygan, and then coming here. I cannot blame her for taking a little snooze while we were yakking after the meal. She was hoping no one would notice, since she was wearing sunglasses. We knew—–she was quiet!! lol
The time went way too quickly, and soon they were on their way again.
They were buckled up in the car already when I realized I didn’t get a picture of all of us. Oh well, next year! They still had to stop for groceries in Green Bay before heading on up to Sue’s cabin. That is one long day for them!!
Off they went, and those rotten kids didn’t even help clean up!
LOL, not really! They kept asking to help, and I kept saying NO. They had a long way to go. Besides, I have a live-in maid—Ken. And our kitchen is so small that there isn’t room for more than two people to work.
All the food, except for the snacky stuff was inside the house. I put the food away, and Ken did the dishes.
And, I knew I had to get this up tonight since Fran (Josaju) would be waiting. Val said she was going to call her mom right after leaving here.
Thanks for a great afternoon girls!!
Same time, same place, next year—-God willing????

Sounds like a fun time was had by all!
I’m going to try to get Wil to drive your way after we visit g-son but know it is far and with gas ….. I might show him the food pics….that might encourage him! lol
Ken does look MIGHTY happy in that picture!!!
I’ll bet you had a great time.
Hey, I think I have the same set of bowls in that picture – the yellow one; does it “nest” in a set of four, alternating white with a yellow design, and yellow with a white design? At least, I think there were four of them. One of mine got broken at an office party. I think they were a wedding present, so I’ve had them about 33 years now!
What a great visit for the girls, love the photo of Ken , he has a great smile on his face
Yes, Val called and was so very happy. You’ve got to win the Hostess of the Year award.! Love the picture of Ken. Now listen, you be sure to get in those pics next time.
Much love,
:heartbeat:
And now I could kick myself for spending the last four and a half months in Kenosha without trying to make an attempt to maybe meet you halfway.
Looks like ya’ll had a wonderful visit–was Ken still smiling like that when he washed the dishes?? LOL It’s wonderful ya’ll share the chores like that
Sounds like a good time. Glad my hub isn’t the only one who does dishes
I just loved the idea of a girls getaway for a week. Nice pictures. Hey ….she took my idea about wearing sun glasses then no one knows when you are falling asleep!
How I wish I had been there!! I remember you visited with Josue last year. I had a lovely day a couple of years ago with symbalreader and her daughter and grandson…I believe only the nicest people are Xangans..at least the ones who love to visit!!
You and Ken are two in a million!!!
OH yes, Ken looked VERY happy! Ha ha!
Lucky you getting to meet Xanga friends! Isn’t the internet an amazing thing?!
You mentioned your “maid”. We went to the Andrew Jackson home in Nashville and after touring it my sister said, “I wish I had a maid”. Mind you, I had been on this trip only about 5 days with my sis and bro-in-law and I said to my sister, “What are you talking about? YOU DO have a maid – it’s ROBIN (bro-in-law). He did so much for us on this trip. My sis is very blessed to have him!
You take good care of yourself!
It looks like a good time! Everyone looks so happy! I’m glad you enjoyed and got some nice pictures…
Fortunatly there are moments like that in life . The photos express well the warm ambiance . Go Ken !
Love
