  • I just am not used to so much “busyness”!

Tues. I had to go to get blood drawn.  The gal was new, and couldn’t get a vein on the first try, so she asked another gal who got it right away.  Yippee.

    Then ran errands.

Yesterday was back to the hospital for a spirometry (breathing) test, and right after that an appointment with the pulmonologist.

I had a different technician for the spirometry this time than the previous two times.  She was VERY good, and showed me the graphs and explained everything to me.

One interesting thing she said is that she is amazed at the amount of asthma in this area.  When she worked in Minneapolis she hardly saw any.

They do the test twice, the second time after using Albuterol–a broncho dilator.  Even after the Albuterol many of my numbers were not anywhere near where they should be.  Thank you asthma.

The pulmonologist gave me suggestions for when it gets so hot and humid here.  He was pleased that my weight is going down, and that I am starting to exercise.  Don’t have to see him for a year.

Got home, and daughter-in-law  called asking us to babysit for a few hours.

We hadn’t babysat Linden for a long time, and he and Papa had a lot of fun.  I went outside with them a little bit, but I got too cold.

Here are some pictures I took when I did go out for a while.

I’ll ride my bike for a while

Picking up pinecones and fallen twigs and putting them in the fireplace.

Now, let’s rest and enjoy the fire.

Notice how Linden now wears a red knit hat just like Papa.

I couldn’t sit out there—smoke doesn’t agree with me.  They spent a lot of time out there.  Linden loved stirring up the fire.

Today I had dentist appointment, and tomorrow is rehab again.  So, there has been something every day this week.  For someone who hasn’t been doing anything for so long, this is a lot!!!

Well, at least nobody can complain that I am not doing enough!  lol

  • You sure are busy!   Hope you get a day off soon.  Nice pictures!

  • Ah, stop whinning, that’s my area of expertize!!! Really, Nancy, I’m so glad you are being made to get out no matter what the reason. You and my cousin are so much alike I’m not sure you aren’t related. lol I just think if you start moving around more you will feel so much better in the long run mentally and physically. Just my unasked for opinion.

  • love those two at the fire………..a lot of testing but so important…..  now add a photo of you on the stationary bikes with all your men!  (asthma and humidity what a miserable combo) -g

  • You are busy! That’s cute how he wears his hat exactly the same way as his grandpa.

  • Linden has really grown. He looks like a big boy now and it is great to see him with Ken. That fire place looks very nice. I like outsdie fires.

I hope all of your tests come back well!
have fun at the dentist, not my favorite place :nono:

  • Busy, Busy, Busy!  But that is a very good thing.  Keep it up!  MIL sat way too much and I think that contributed to her poor health.  She is doing so much better now that she is in assisted living and having to get up  walk to meals, activities etc… And she is eating healthier and that is making a difference in her Blood Pressure etc….

  • Sounds pretty lively over there!

What a beautiful fireplace!  I wouldn’t mind having one of those.  Do you roast hot dogs out there?

I think there is a lot of asthma here, too.  There never used to be, but now it seems like everyone’s got an inhaler these days.

  • SuzieQ took the words right off my typewriter.   I was going to say the same thing about that fire place.  Did you folks build it yourself?

I don’t think there’s ANYTHING that wears a person out, more than going to doctors!!!  I’d rather have to work all day, as to have to go to one doctor!!!

  • Where were the marshmallows and hot dogs?  Of course I would think of food…  Pretty soon you’re gonna be running circles around Mr. Ken!  Well maybe not…

  • Glad that you are feeling better keep up the good work, love the fireplace i bet in the summer you can have lots of hot dog roast are just sitting by the fire, we do that are is built like a pit and really enjoy it  my hubby might have to rebuild it soon the fire bricks need replacing we saw a picture in a magazine one time and i said i like that so he figure it out. have a great weekend, we also have are granddaughter here for the day so  i better get off this and give her her bath

  • I see the guys have their own red cap club. Cute. Did Ken build that fireplace? If so, a man of great talent.

  • You are in the doctors ‘ hands , Nancy and I feel you are on the good way . Besides you have ghigh spirit and volunty .

Like Linden I am a mazed by the fire  built by Ken and I would like having one . But the weather don’ t allow much this in our area where it is often raining and glooming . I confess I would like to build myself but this is a dream !

     Love
